Since the beginning of August 2017 you have been able to admire a new bronze fountain on the Rokin in the centre of Amsterdam. The work was cast by Art Casting and is a creation of the Dutch artist Mark Manders.
Manders’ first fountain
Manders’ oeuvre consists primarily of installations, drawings, sculpture and short films. “I was really excited by it: I had never made a fountain before,” the artist told us. “I wanted it to be unclear which era the sculpture dated from. Hopefully that has worked and soon there will be tourists passing by who think that this fountain has already been there for hundreds of years.”
