The work ‘Flight in mind’ by Olivier Strebelle was badly damaged in the terrorist attack on Brussels Airport of 22 March 2016. Art Casting restored the sculpture in collaboration with the artist and his studio and its owner Brussels Airport Company. Special attention was given to considering which damage should be repaired and which should be left as “scars”.

The work was thoroughly cleaned and patinated where necessary. In addition a stronger internal reinforcement was fitted so the work can now also stand outside. Art Casting handled and coordinated all the work involved including calculating foundations and installation.
